🍇 About Domaine du Pégau
Founded in 1987 by Laurence Féraud and her parents, Paul and Odette, Domaine du Pégau carries forward generations of family winegrowing in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Its name refers to a 14th-century Provençal wine pitcher, linking the estate to the region’s history and the papal presence in Avignon.
Across vineyards of rounded river pebbles, red clay and sand, Grenache leads the estate’s traditional grape blends. Whole-bunch fermentation, native yeasts and long ageing in large old oak casks, known as foudres, shape reds of depth, structure and ageing potential, including the flagship Cuvée Réservée.
In 2012, the family expanded with Château Pégau, a property beside the Rhône in Sorgues. Its wines offer another introduction to the family’s winemaking, including the Lône white and Maclura red featured at this dinner.
